Walking in counts of 50

Hmmmmm 22 posts?  I have only written 22 posts?  And I have 50 followers!~ Woo!  60 if you count those on Facebook, and I think there are a few more who are anonymously checking in to see if the Old English teacher is practicing what she preached all those years.  Honestly, I am feeling the pressure a bit, and I am struggling with topics.

I have been out there reading other blogs, and I now have new friends all over the US plus on in Ireland, Korea, and the Philippines!  How cool is that?  Each person has his/her own voice, and it is refreshing to to hear about life at all stages and ages.  This has to be a very important way for us to communicate, both now and in the future.  Finding a commonality or shared heart moment makes us all new friends and begins to forge the ties that will turn us in to old friends before we know it.

Today in church, a couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  How wonderful to see their entire family surrounding them; what a legacy these two people have given to their children, their children's children, and so on down those lovely branches of their family tree.  As I read the paper, I keep seeing the parents of my friends celebrating the same milestone.  My folks will join the crowd next year, and Tall Guy's parents have two more years.

So now the number 50 is popping up all over the place.  If you do something 50 times, it becomes a habit (I actually think the number is smaller, but some of us take longer to learn a lesson!).  In a couple years, I will have to say I am 50.  50 states in the good ol' USA and 50 stars.

Ok, back in the real world, Tall Guy and I have told each of the girls at least 50 times to refocus, redirect, and rethink (our words were a bit more uhm.....descriptive than that!)  Thanks heavens there are not 50 days until school starts!

Thanks to the first 50 readers who are following me along my journey, and here is to the next 50.  I look forward to chatting with you all!

  1. We must be around the same age. I'm going to be 50 in a few years myself.

  9. I'll be logging my 100th post in the next couple of days and it's so exciting. I always love logging in and seeing new followers- and comments are even better because I know people are reading and not just becoming a number!
