Walking with The King...but It's Not Elvis!

I did it!  I made it back on my treadmill!  I didn't want to do it.  February has me in it's nasty grasp, all gray and gloomy and cold, with occasional teases of warmth and sun, which just makes the gray stuff worse.

Tall Guy actually made me breakfast after Tink and Bear hustled off to the bus.  His one condition, GET ON THE TREADMILL!  He's good about being my coach, even when I don't want one but still need one.

So off I went to the very cool sun room (because of aforementioned weather conditions), stuck in my ear thingies, and thumbed through the music choices on my music thingy.  It's not an IPod, but a Zune??/ made by Sandisc or something like that.  Anywho.... I chose this lovely lady, and she made my walk an extremely happy one:

I LOVE CAROLE KING!!!!!!  I have loved her music for a very long time; I was nine when Tapestry came out, and for a girl craving music to sing to, she was IT!

If you are better informed than I am in the ways of digital music, I strongly urge you to download this album for music that will make you sing and smile and feel good about yourself.  Even on a dreary day in February.

"You've got to get up every morning with a smile on your face
And show the world all the love in your heart
Then people gonna treat you better
You're gonna find, yes, you will
That you're beautiful as you feel

Waiting at the station with a workday wind a-blowing
I've got nothing to do but watch the passers-by
Mirrored in their faces I see frustration growing
And they don't see it showing, why do I?"

Now try not to smile after listening to these words and this lovely, soulful voice!  I dare you!

If the music is still not cutting it, hop over to see all the beautiful pictures Miss Lauren posted from her dreamy cruise to sun-kissed beaches.   The big stinkers had a wonderful time while we were shoveling back snow back here at home.  No seriously, I am so glad they were able to get away and enjoy the sun for a week.  They needed it!

  2. Love it, Lana.. that's definitely a feel-good song..... I'll admit that I don't always get up with a SMILE on my face though --but I'll try better...

    Thanks for the song.

  5. Thank goodness for those coaches! My poor hubby catches a little attitude from me time to time. So glad he doesn't give up his job as my coach :) Maybe I should download Carole King too. It might help.
