Whew! Another Day with Tall Guy Working Outside

I love my husband dearly, but I am kind of glad to see him go out the door the last two days to haul corn to Lafayette.  It's just nice to have a bit of time to myself.

I want to try and catch you up with some of the goings on around here.  I have been spending the last two Thursdays with Tall Guy at our great John Deere store learning more about the GPS system and mapping program we will be using on the planter, sprayer, and later combine.  There is sooooooo much to learn.  I will try a put together a post with page shots to show what you need to know if you want to farm in the 21st Century.

We have also been finishing up the sun room, laundry room, garage, and new entryway, figuring out taxes, doing all the little, non-spectacular projects that keep the house upright but don't stand out.  It's just a very busy day when Tall Guy is in the house.  Does anyone else's list of thing to do take a back seat to your husband's when he is ready to "do" stuff?  I'm just smiling at all we accomplished on his list and praying I will be able to get back to mine very soon!

For today, though, I will share some fun.  Tink and Bear have a great school that believes in kids moving throughout the day.  Remember our skating experience?   Our walk around the town?   This day they hopped for Riley Children's Hospital, and then ended the day with a sock hop.  I remember reading a blog about a mom who had reservations about young students attending a sock hop with older students (there might have been middle school students involved).  Well, our sock hop was a good old-fashioned kind with songs that everyone could and did dance to.  I even remember dancing to the same songs many many moons ago.

It was also CRAZY SOCK DAY!

"YMCA"

Bear is trying to get her groove on wearing a pair of MY socks!

What the heck?

She's in Kindergarten for Heaven's sake!

Tink and her friends doing "The Bunny Hop!"

Now when was the last time you did the Bunny Hop??

 More creative socks!

Doin' the "Hokey Pokey" with the big guys in the middle.
I think it was safer that way.

"Chicken Dance!"

See the fuzzy guys rockin' out below?  How much fun are they having?  Can't you feel it?
Meanwhile our girls are sharing a moment on the dance floor.
It's so funny that they started the dance "miles" apart and gravitated to each other as it all progressed.
What a great sister moment!

Some of our favorite people in the world!  Our teachers!

Time to get back to MY list of things to do while TG is still out and about!  Happy sunny day.  We have more rain and snow on the way.  Can't wait to escape all this for a week.  Soon....very soon!

  5. I can relate to the "to do list dilema" with my husband too. Ha, ha! Weekends tend to be the worst around here :)

What fun those kids are having! My boys and their small school are lucky enough to get gym class everyday as well as two recesses. They are in kindergarten. It's nice to see teachers understand the value of exercise and play during a kid's day.
