A Week of Reveals!

So did you see that the nation has joined in the eagle nest cam I have been talking about?  How cool is that?  Two of the eggs have hatched, and we are all waiting on number three to get on out.  Hope all goes well for the last little one.  Click here if you haven't seen this yet!

The sun room is finished enough to let me show you the whole she-bang.  Still waiting on the hot tub to have water, but I have my fingers crossed for sometime this week.  If you wouldn't mind, I would love for you all to send up good thoughts that this project's last step is finished SOON (or this writer might lose her mind) Not really, but I am just sooooo ready to get in and soak!

The best way to tell the story is to use pictures and some references back to older posts, so here we go.

For those who are new to this lovely story of remodeling our lovely farm house:

Here is the beginning up until Valentine's Day

More progress

Sadie's opinion of the sun room

And now to update further:

Tink is helping Tall Guy with the "some assembly" part.  She is a very brave girl!  ;-)

The extension on this chair can be tucked under the seat, but I just LOVE that I have my chaise lounge!

Time for some snuggling with Little Bear.  She LOVES that she can snuggle here! See the arm part of the chair?  It's a small magazine rack!  LOVE that!

DANG!  Don't tell Tall Guy that Pumpkin thinks this is a purrrrfect place for a bath.

Our first meal out here.  Right behind Tall Guy you can see the beginning of one our our heating/cooling methods.  It's a unit like you would find in a hotel room!  We also have radiant heating in the floor, so it's pretty toasty without having to turn on the unit!  We also have two ceiling fans hanging now.  Woo!

The color of the covers are not coming out true.  Not sure what to do to change that except change the lighting, and that is kind of hard to do with all the sun streaming in.  Think Monet greens, and you will be close.  We actually liked the creamy white canvas covers of the mattresses,, but they would not stay clean for very long around here.

YES!  I said mattresses!  Our new couch and chair are actually FUTONS!  So LOVE this idea!  I didn't want wicker or iron or Ethan Allen, and this is the perfect fit.  When the girls have sleep overs, they can all hang out here!  They convert to a full bed and a twin!

I think that's enough for one day.  Stay tuned for more run tomorrow!  Have a great day!

  6. Cool room! If our hot tub had been indoors, we'd probably still be using it.
I don't care what anyone says--that 25 feet between the tub and the back door to the house in the dead of winter negates the wonders of the tub!!!

  7. Oh My Gosh, Lana. I LOVE it... I know you all are going to love that room... The view is fabulous!!!!!! Can't wait to see you all enjoying the hot tub!!!!!

    CONGRATS... It's wonderful.

  8. HOW GREAT!!! I LOVE your sunroom!! I love rooms that make me feel like I'm outside, but warm in winter and cooler in summer! :) And futons with covers: that's the best of both worlds. I want a futon for our enclosed porch, too! Your blog looks like lots of fun!!! :)
