The Indianapolis Zoo?
Nope, it's a great zoo, but Lafayette's very own Columbian Park Zoo is making a great come back. I've been going there since I was born, and because I had a birthday Tuesday, we all know how long that is! Scoot back to Tuesday's post if you missed the big day!
Here are some fun pics of Little Bear and her friends. Tink went too, but she opted to spend more time on the monkey bars than visit with the monkeys!
The kids earned their seats on the bus for this day's trip by reading Accelerated Reader books and meeting goals they set at the beginning of the year. What a great group of kids to spend my beautiful day with laughing and exploring.
Great news! While we were bowling and playing at the zoo, Tall Guy added the bean units to the planter and started planting beans! Poor guy is still out there (it's about 10:00 P.M.) trying to finish the field he is in. God bless all the farmers who are out there working in to the wee hours to plant our food. God also be with the farmers still trying to get in the field to plant. This is such a crazy life from now until about September. Watch out for us on the roads, especially at night.
Accelerated Reader is a great incentive program. My kids love it. I love those Bald Eagles and it looks like the girls had fun.
ReplyDeleteLate nights are for the farmers Hubby is still out tonight There is a chance of rain tomorrow Trying to get some corn planted
ReplyDeleteLooks like a GREAT Field Trip, Lana. I know the girls had a wonderful day. Great pictures...
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing the Eagles, didn't you???? We both know alot more about eagles now than we did, don't we??????
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
I am going to take my sons to the zoo, fairy tale town and funderland, and William Land Park. Here in Sac they are all located next to each other! It's really nice. Those are some great pics you took at the zoo! I am now following you from the hop and I would love it if you could follow me back at http://mizzreviewlady-mommyreviews.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThank You:)
That is a great zoo! Looks like you all had a good time and you got some great shots of the animals too!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos! Sounds like a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteThe man who rents our farmland is planting soybeans in what was always our alfalfa field. I miss the beautiful alfalfa and just heard tonight that soybeans bring those horrid beetles that we get in early October. I hope they're wrong. And I hope the field goes back to alfalfa next year. So familiar with farmers working all hours to get crops in.
Looks like everyone had fun. Glad you guys were able to start with beans. We still have about 300 acres of corn left and Brad is still out right now. Hoping the rain that they are calling tomorrow holds off. Best of luck to you!
ReplyDeleteOH i really like those big birds!!! and i'm glad you had a great time! Up to another great year!

Yay for reward trips for reading and hooray for farmers finally planting! We go to the Bismarck ND zoo at least once a year and are always impressed.
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures you took! Sounds like such a fun day - for kids and adults alike. I hope your hubs didn't work too much longer - whew, I'm tired for him!
ReplyDeletei love little zoos-i haven't been to our phila zoo in ages, yet in the summer we go to this little zoo in jersey that takes a donation to get in, no overpriced ticket. thanks for the reminder of this sweet place, since we haven't gone in recent years. how sweet is that kangaroo?
