HAPPY 50TH MOM AND DAD!

Well if you have been following this blog for the past year, you would remember this post where I wished Mom and Dad a Happy 49th Wedding Anniversary.  A whole year has passed, and logic would dictate that we had a party on the 13th, and so we did!

Here are some of the fun memories with dear family and friends.

Mom and Dad had a great idea to take the pictures from their wedding album and put them into acrylic frames.  They used them as table decorations.  The funny story behind the picture of them kneeling at the alter is that RIGHT BEFORE the ceremony, "one" of Dad's groomsmen got a hold of his shoes and wrote HE on the bottom of the left shoe and LP on the bottom of the right.  There were more than a few giggles going through the church as they knelt.  Mom sees the humor in it now, but I think she was a bit concerned at the time, wondering what was so funny as she had her back to everyone!

This is the Bible Mom carried on her wedding day.  I also carried it as did my niece two years ago!

Rose, or Rosalyn, and Joyce have known me since the day I was born.  They were classmates of Mom's and still are dear friends.

Dad's sisters Martha and Sue and my cuz Nancy.

Dad and Joyce's husband, Tom, chatting about the good ol' Theta Chi days at Ball State!

My niece chatting with her great great aunt.  There are 4.5 generations spanned if you count little Max who will be with us sometime in November!

My mom's aunts.

Dad and his brother Bob.

My family.

The grand kids minus two.  Note that Mom is standing on the TOP step.  Have I ever mentioned that she is 4' 9 1/2"?

Mom and Dad with dear friends Rose and Larry.

So that is what we did this past Saturday.  Mom and Dad had a great day, and I did too as long as I could forget that 9 months and fours days after they were married I was born, so that means the countdown is on for my 50 lovely wonderful years on this planet.  ACK!!!!

Tomorrow is the girls' last day at home before school starts, so I imagine there will be a bit of scrambling around here to do fun stuff and get ready for school.  Right now, though, we need to get ready for soccer practice.
