This DANGED ol' Cancer!

I've had a bit too much news about cancer lately.  Please keep my friend Leontine in your prayers as she faces another trip to the hospital this week.  I also have an elderly aunt who has had a cancer diagnosis last week, and she is too frail to undergo the surgery, so we will just make sure she is comfortable.  Now last night, a very near and dear friend had an abnormal mammogram that turned up issues she will have to wait to deal with because she has gall bladder surgery scheduled for Thursday.  Another near and dear friend is just finishing up with chemo and radiation treatments for her breast cancer. These two dear friends and Leontine are YOUNGER than me.

Please my dear lady friends, keep an eye on your bodies.  Get the mammograms and yearly physicals, exercise when you can, eat as well as you can, wear sun screen, and find a way to smile and shrug off the stress at least five times a day. You have to make yourself a priority in your life so you can be there for everyone else.

There is not much I can do besides pray for my dear friends, and although I truly think that is a powerful tool, we also need to be proactive with ourselves and the other great women in our lives.

Hugs to you all!

  2. So sad, Lana. I'll keep them in my prayers. I've been keeping up with Leontien for some time --and pray for her every day. She is facing a lot. Makes me cry.

Cancer killed my brother and my good friend, Susan. It's a wicked wicked disease...

    God Bless.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  3. Good post, Lana. And how disappointing for Leontine to have a relapse. We live in a fallen world - and need to be praying for our friends and loved ones.
